2018-2020 Masters of Science (MSc.) in Sustainable Tropical Forestry: Forests and livelihoods, jointly awarded by Copenhagen University, Denmark and Bangor University, United Kingdom

2010-2014 Bachelors of Science (BSc.) in Community Development, awarded by Egerton University, Kenya

Key Competencies

Abdalla Kisiwa specializes in rural livelihoods and forest governance. He has empirical experience on (i) measuring the economic importance and linkage of natural resources to people’s livelihoods and wellbeing, (ii) decentralized forest governance and (iii) qualitative and ethnographic study of indigenous people. Globally, Abdalla has experience working on livelihoods and socio-ecological studies in the Miombo woodlands of Tanzania, the montane forests of Nepal and woodlands of the UK. He is a strong advocate of contemporary forestry dissemination platforms and a pioneer in the development and application of information based technology in dissemination of forestry technologies (e-extension learning).
